Making a Complaint About a Motor Accident or Workers Compensation Insurer

Prior to March 2021, the Workers Compensation Independent Review Office (WIRO) had been handling complaints by injured workers about workers compensation insurers.

Their solutions team were able to quickly and successfully resolve many complaints usually within a few days to a week.

WIRO became the Independent Review Office (IRO) as of 1 March 2021.

IRO is now able to help resolve complaints for both injured workers and people injured in motor accidents in New South Wales.

If the insurer is delaying determination of your claim or if they have done something or made a decision you don't agree with, you can lodge a complaint with IRO online at www.iro.nsw.gov.au or by email to complaints@iro.nsw.gov.au.

If you are unable to lodge your complaint online, you can call IRO on 139476.
